Call for papers: Cultures of computation and quantification in the ancient world

The SAW project organises a conference Cultures of computation and quantification in the ancient world, which will take place 25-29 March 2013 in Paris.

We now invite proposals for papers on the conference topics. Please see the call for papers for details. The deadline for proposals is 7 December 2012. Authors will be notified of paper acceptance or rejection by 30 December 2012.

We expect that draft papers are available for circulation among the conference participants by early March 2013. Conference proceedings will be published as a book.

Call for papers: Shaping the sciences of the ancient world

The SAW project organises a conference Shaping the sciences of the ancient world:
Text criticism, critical editions and translations of ancient and medieval scholarly texts (18th-20th centuries), which will take place 17-21 June 2013 in Paris.

Call for papers: Mathematical facets of measurement, measuring units, measured quantities and their uses

SAW project team members will present a symposium Mathematical facets of measurement, measuring units, measured quantities and their uses,  at the 24th International Congress of History of Science, Technology and Medicine, which will take place 22-28 July 2013 in Manchester.

The symposium organisers now invite proposals for papers on the symposium topics. Please see the call for papers for details. The deadline for proposals is 31 October 2012. Authors will be notified of paper acceptance or rejection by 20 November 2012.
